OUR ADOPTION INTO GOD’S FAMILY (Article 7)

Of vital Importance is our knowing God in a loving relationship — and not simply knowing about Him. God then adopts us into His personal family. Amazing stuff, but true!

Satan knows God better than any of us do, and knows a great deal about Him, but NOT in a loving relationship such as we are called to. Jesus explained our need to love God in Matthew 22: 37–39:

Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment.”

The word used for love in the Greek language, ‘agape’, signifies ‘divine love’, which is described in 1Corinthians 13. Practising agape love brings us closer to God such that we actually know Him and are adopted into His family.

Being adopted into God’s family makes us joint heirs of Christ in an upcoming and stunning afterlife that each of us will enjoy. And don’t think it will be boring, we will still have much to learn and do on a New Earth in a fresh universe which will be the New Heavens. Life with God is never boring. To get a tiny insight into the new reality we will enjoy, read the last two chapters of the Bible several times — Revelation 21 and 22.

Please send me an account of any experience with God you have had that you think might help others to know God in a deeper way. You can email it to me through my website blog.ivanrudolph.com. Hope you will! Long or short, it will be included — please remember to add in purple what your testimony tells us
