COULD DRUGS CAUSE NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCES?

I had an excellent question last week arising out of a smart young lady studying “Living Beyond”. It asked how did I know the NDE experiences of many thousands were not simply hallucinations in the dying brain caused by the provision to the dying brain of psychedelic drugs such as DMT? Summarising my answer:

1. As you might expect in the modern era, a number of NDErs have been psychedelic drug users prior to their NDE — all those I know of are emphatic the experiences are poles apart.

2. Some professional psychologists who have also had NDEs confirm the differences.

3. I have come across returnees (from an NDE) who describe detailed observations that they could not possibly have known if they had remained in their bodies. These observations have checked out later. — quite apart from those returnees I have interviewed, there are dozens of these reports in the literature. The details reported illustrate the brain lying inactive in the dead body could not have been involved. I will give some additional examples in my upcoming book, “Our Creative God — And You” but Rhoda Fryer’s account in “Living Beyond”, and others similar, illustrate that her brain located in her dying body could not have seen and heard what two doctors were doing and saying in an entirely separate room in the hospital.
